Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a Junior Distribution Systems Engineer to support the BIM contract on site at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Hawaii. This role requires residing in the Honolulu area for daily onsite support with no travel pay.

You will assist with basic installation of network equipment, rack and stack, cabling, documentation, and coordination with Government POCs while learning from senior engineers. Active Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline or 2+ years of related experience.
• Familiar with distribution systems design and implementation documents.
• Knowledge of wired IT functions and fiber testing.

Responsibilities

• Support basic installation of equipment and infrastructure for the BIM contract, including rack and stack of network gear and cabling.
• Assist with installation of new or upgraded technologies under senior guidance.
• Document findings from fieldwork and report issues affecting project progress to senior staff.
• Coordinate site access, equipment readiness, and schedules with Government POCs as directed.
• Provide technical input related to ISP/OSP activities and assist with design recommendations.
• Participate as a member of small implementation teams, focusing on assigned tasks.
