Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking a Project Manager with distribution operations experience to lead process optimization in a fast-paced Parts Distribution Center. You will identify inefficiencies, improve material and information flow, and drive continuous improvement across safety, productivity, and cost performance.

Collaborating with warehouse operations, engineering, IT, and leadership, you will develop data-driven recommendations, manage multi-project portfolios, and apply Lean Six

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field.
• 5 years of experience leading operational optimization or continuous improvement projects.
• Leadership experience or direct operations experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience within distribution center, warehouse, or supply chain operations environments.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Experience analyzing operational data and translating findings into actionable process improvements.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional optimization projects focused on warehouse operations, material flow, labor productivity, inventory movement, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with operations leadership and frontline teams to identify process bottlenecks, flow disruptors, and operational pain points.
• Analyze current-state workflows and develop data-driven recommendations for process improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Industrial Engineering methodologies.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and advanced analytics to improve operational performance and decision-making.
• Support warehouse layout optimization, slotting strategies, storage utilization, and labor balancing initiatives.
• Develop project plans, timelines, business cases, and implementation strategies for operational improvements.
• Coordinate with IT, engineering, warehouse systems, and operational stakeholders to execute improvement initiatives.
• Monitor project performance, KPIs, and ROI metrics to ensure expected benefits are achieved.
• Facilitate change management activities and support operational adoption of new processes and technologies.
• Conduct operational studies related to throughput, travel reduction, staffing models, productivity, and process standardization.
• Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to leadership teams in a clear and professional manner.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% as needed to support business operations and stakeholder engagement.
