Job summary

Georgia Power is seeking a qualified engineer to oversee scoping, estimating, design and construction support for GRID Investment Program projects in the Georgia Power distribution network. You will prepare complete cost estimates for material, labor and total project costs, with field visits and travel across the GPC footprint to meet deadlines and compliance requirements.

The role requires knowledge of distribution engineering standards, regulatory requirements and experience presenting

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.
Prior experience in distribution design, construction, or maintenance required.
Experience in project development and cost estimating preferred.
Experience presenting large projects to management preferred.

Responsibilities

Create safe work environment.
Accurately scope projects and provide cost/duration estimates.
Develop detailed project scopes and design packages for cost estimates and schedules.
Coordinate easements, permits, and encroachments in designs.
Provide field engineering services and pre-construction meetings.
Support storm restoration efforts as needed.
