Job summary

Georgia Power’s Distribution Grid Investment Plan program guides a 15-year, multi-project effort. This role provides engineering oversight to scope, estimate, design, and construct distribution projects across the GRID Investment Program.

It involves field visits and travel within the GPC footprint, ensuring complete cost data and compliant documentation to meet schedules. The position supports hundreds of projects totaling over $1B in investments and serves as a leader during storm restoration

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required.
BS Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred.
PE License or PMP certification is a plus.
Experience in distribution design, construction, or maintenance required.
Experience in project development and cost estimating preferred.
Experience presenting large projects to management preferred.

Responsibilities

Create a safe work environment through personal commitment to safety.
Apply distribution engineering expertise to accurately scope projects and provide quality cost and duration estimates.
Develop detailed project scopes and conceptual design packages to produce accurate cost estimates and schedules.
Develop detailed distribution design and construction packages, including coordination of easements and permits.
Provide supporting project engineering services, such as field work and pre-construction meetings.
Provide input on estimating units in JETS to ensure accurate estimates.
Provide support for storm restoration efforts on and off system.
