Job summary

Georgia Power, a subsidiary of Southern Company, seeks a Distribution Engineer for Athens General Headquarters. The role covers engineering, design, construction coordination, and project management for electric distribution serving residential, commercial, industrial, and governmental customers.

The position requires coordination with customers, contractors, and operations, with on-call storm response duties and relocation considerations as needed. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required for Engineer placement.
• EUT Certification preferred for some placements.
• Two-year Technical Degree or Four-year non-engineering degree acceptable for Representative placement.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate overhead and underground distribution facilities.
• Prepare engineering designs, estimates, packages, and work orders.
• Manage customer and company projects from initiation to completion.
• Schedule work to meet committed service dates.
• Support distribution planning and system improvements.
• Investigate customer concerns including voltage issues and reliability concerns.
• Coordinate with customers, contractors, and field personnel.
• Maintain records and comply with procedures and regulations.
