Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Distribution Engineer to lead design teams for 2.4kV to 34.5kV distribution projects, overseeing design and construction from concept through execution. This role requires independent leadership, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to manage scope, budget, and schedule.

Candidate will mentor engineers, review distribution calculations, and ensure adherence to NESC and utility standards while actively pursuing new business opportunities.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree with 7+ years in distribution engineering (EPC experience preferred).
• Alternatives include FE with 7+ years, or MS with 6+ years in distribution engineering (EPC preferred).
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design teams for overhead and underground distribution projects.
• Review calculations: cable pulling, voltage drop, pole loading.
• Oversee QA/QC and construction administration activities.
• Build client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
