Xcel Energy, Inc. is hiring Distribution Designers across multiple levels with a hybrid work model. The role involves designing facilities, managing design projects, and coordinating with customers and authorities. Travel may be required and after-hours support is possible.

Positions range from Designer I to Principal Designer, with pay scales from $29.40 to $62.13 per hour, depending on level and experience. A related associate degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Assoc. Degree in drafting, design, automation, electronics, mechatronics, engineering, GIS or related field.
• In lieu of degree, a combination of education and experience in design/drafting, construction or project management.
• Working knowledge of GIS, design software and work management systems desirable.
• Proficient in Windows and MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
• Driver's License may be required.

Responsibilities

• Design safe operating facilities and provide distribution design project management for all areas.
• Manage projects from initial customer contact through post-project analysis ensuring schedule and budget needs are met.
• Mentor Designers and foster cross-group teamwork to achieve department goals.
• Represent the Company with government officials, contractors, city agencies, vendors, engineers and customers.
• Obtain permits and easements; execute contracts in compliance with regulations.
• May assist after normal business hours during emergencies.
