Job summary

Xcel Energy seeks a Mastery-level Designer II to deliver cost-effective distribution designs balancing customer needs with company standards. You will manage projects from initial contact through post-project analysis, and mentor junior designers while coordinating with construction teams and external partners.

The role requires knowledge of GIS, design software, and Windows/Microsoft Office, with strong communication and problem-solving skills to support a wide range of design challenges.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements for Designer II include an Assoc. Degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with GIS and design software and related systems.
• Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office required.

Responsibilities

• Design safe operating facilities for new and existing customers per standards and guidelines.
• Provide distribution design project management for all design areas, including complex designs.
• Mentor and train designers; support construction personnel and liaison with customers.
