Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Distribution CAD Operator 2 to join our Distribution group in a hybrid remote/onsite role in the Orlando area. You will design and permit distribution lines, prepare materials, and lead field visits while mentoring entry-level staff.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of CAD experience, an associate degree or equivalent, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. You will work remotely with occasional visits to the local GAI office as needed.

Qualifications

• Analytical thinker with keen problem-solving abilities and strong verbal/written communication.
• Mentor and train junior staff while ensuring QA/QC standards.
• Ability to coordinate with design teams and external field visits.

Responsibilities

• Design and permit distribution lines with minimal supervision.
• Lead field visits and oversee CAD checks and reviews.
• Create overhead and underground distribution designs using CAD packages.
• Ensure compliance with local utility and construction standards.
• Mentor entry-level staff and manage project tasks.
