Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. seeks a Distribution CAD Operator 3 to design and permit distribution lines, prepare drawings, bill of materials, and coordinate material orders. The role includes field visits and mentoring entry-level staff within the Distribution group.

Strong CAD experience, analytical problem-solving, and excellent communication are required. Remote work is possible with periodic visits to the local GAI office as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in CAD design for distribution systems.
• Ability to train and mentor entry-level staff and QA/QC duties.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and permit distribution lines; prepare drawings and BOMs; order materials; conduct field visits.
• Lead field visits, mentor staff, and perform QA/QC responsibilities.
• Utilize CAD tools to create overhead and underground electrical distribution designs.
• Follow local utility and construction standards and work well in design teams.
