Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a senior systems engineer to shape the future of virtualized networking in EC2. The NX Platforms team owns the packet processing pipeline across millions of hosts, delivering encryption, security groups, routing, and monitoring for scalable cloud services.

We require strong C/C++ and low-level systems experience, plus a track record in embedded development and performance tuning. You will ship production code across the EC2 fleet and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
• Experience in embedded development in C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design, scoping, implementation and tests for features on the EC2 Nitro System.
• Design and build secure, scalable services for monitoring, diagnostics and automated recovery.
• Create hardware/software validation platforms to enable efficient CI/CD.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and architectures.
• Improve development processes, tools, and automation for quality.
