Cloudflare, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on the Distributed Databases team. This role spans the database stack from planning to durable storage, with emphasis on correctness, concurrency, and low latency.

You will shape query execution, isolation, recovery, and coordination across services, mentoring peers and leading design changes end-to-end in a fast-moving, AI-enabled culture.

Qualifications

• Experience with concurrency control and durability in distributed databases.
• Ability to design and reason about transaction processing and recovery.
• Proficiency in Rust, Go, or C++ for systems programming.

Responsabilités

• Improve query planning and execution and index selection.
• Build durable transaction and storage paths.
• Design deterministic simulations for rare event ordering and failures.
• Plan stateful upgrades with staged rollout, failover, and recovery.
• Participate in the service's on-call rotation and incident response.
• Own major changes from design through production and coordinate across teams.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, debugging and incident analysis.
• Lead investigations where failures cross team boundaries.
