Job summary

SDS RX is seeking a Dispatch Manager in Tampa to lead the Dispatch Department and mentor Dispatch Supervisors. You will oversee daily dispatch operations, ensure staffing coverage, and coordinate with drivers, customers, and leadership to meet service standards.

Ideal candidates have strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, plus experience with dispatch software and GPS routing. This role emphasizes accountability, safety compliance, and continuous improvement of processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required or preferred.
• Proven management experience in dispatch, logistics, transportation, operations, or similar environment.
• Strong leadership skills to manage multiple supervisors and drive team performance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong problem-solving and time-management abilities for time-sensitive issues.
• Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and schedules.
• Ability to establish clear expectations, coach staff, and maintain accountability.
• Familiarity with dispatch software, GPS tracking, routing tech, reporting tools.
• High attention to detail in scheduling, routing, staffing, and reporting.
• Customer-service orientation with professional interactions.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage Dispatch Supervisors and mentor frontline leaders.
• Oversee daily dispatch activities, routing, and driver coverage.
• Ensure staffing coverage across shifts and manage PTO.
• Develop leadership and improve decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Maintain open communications with supervisors, drivers, operations, customers, and other departments.
• Escalate significant issues when needed and drive resolution.
• Identify dispatch-related problems and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulations.
• Prepare, review, and present dispatch performance reports.
• Utilize dispatch software and GPS tracking to monitor operations and improve efficiency.
• Address customer inquiries related to dispatch operations and service delivery.
