Job summary

Amentum is seeking an electrical engineer focused on discrete actives and passives components to support technologist teams and write technical reports. You will advise on part selection for military programs, troubleshoot issues, and participate in test planning and life-cycle support of strategic systems.

Required are a STEM degree (EE preferred) with 5+ years of relevant experience, knowledge of IEEE parts, MIL-STD basics, and the ability to communicate with customers and teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM, preferably Electrical Engineering, with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Discrete actives and passives component engineering with focus on quality and reliability standards for IEEE parts.
• Knowledge of best design practices for IEEE parts and how changes impact tests and selection.

Responsibilities

• Provide discrete actives and passives component engineering support and write technical reports.
• Advise military programs and designers on part selection.
• Troubleshoot component issues and recommend solutions.
• Understand electrical test methods, radiation effects, failure analysis tools, and material analysis tools.
• Interface with program offices, prime contractors, designers, and test labs.
• Develop and review test plan documentation.
• Provide life-cycle support of strategic systems.
• Travel 25-50% of the time.
