Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer in Indiana to join the component engineering group, supporting DoW programs with parts planning, testing, and analysis.

You will mentor junior engineers, lead cross-functional parts reviews, and collaborate with environmental/test teams to ensure robust component characterization and data-driven decisions. Requirements include a strong background in IEEE parts and security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Component or Systems Engineering experience focused on IEEE parts quality and reliability.
• Knowledge of IEEE parts design practices.
• Experience with MIL-STD and other standards for component parts.
• Ability to analyze military standards vs part performance data.
• Strong communication with customers and program offices; ability to write technical reports.
• Experience with electronic component testing and characterization.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; US citizen.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of Non-Standard Part Approval Requests for electrical components.
• Lead Program Parts, Materials, and Processes Control Board meetings to review non-standard parts survivability.
• Mentor junior engineers to evaluate components based on qualification and test data.
• Collaborate with environmental and radiation test teams for component characterization and testing.
• Review test data and reports prior to customer delivery.
