Job summary

Charlotte Water in Charlotte, NC, is searching for a senior finance leader to provide strategic direction, planning, and coordination of administration functions including budget, finance, compliance, and ERP systems. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, management, or related field. Master's degree is preferable.
• Ten (10) years of related work experience in utility management, operations, and/or engineering including five (5) years in senior level management with significant financial affairs of a complex organization.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates work activities of staff and participates in staffing decisions.
• Establishes internal controls to ensure reliable financial reporting and compliance with laws.
• Oversees annual operating budgets and capital improvement programs (CIP).
• negotiates contracts with third-party service providers; partners with city leadership on strategic issues.
• Represents Charlotte Water in dealings with officials and partners; drives department-wide initiatives.
