Job summary

City of Charlotte is seeking a top-level executive to provide leadership, strategic direction, and coordination of administrative functions for Charlotte Water. You will oversee budget, finance, records management, audit processes, internal controls, and ERP systems to support sustainable water services.

The role requires a broad skill set in leadership, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder collaboration to align with the city’s strategic priorities and capital programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
• Ten years of related work experience in utility management, operations, and/or engineering, with at least five years in senior management with significant financial affairs.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, strategic direction, planning, and coordination of admin functions for Charlotte Water.
• Oversees budgets, finance, records management, audits, internal controls, and ERP systems.
• Develops partnerships with stakeholders and guides strategic priorities and projects.
• Participates in selection of third-party service providers and negotiates contracts for services and expansions.
• Represents Charlotte Water in meetings with officials and partners to assure efficient operations.
