Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb Co is seeking a Senior Director, U.S. Policy & Research, Commercial Market Policy to lead the policy agenda on PBM reform, access, and market strategy.

The role calls for strong cross-functional collaboration with Market Access, Pricing, and other teams to translate insights into policy options and actionable advocacy. The position requires deep PBM expertise, executive communication, and the ability to influence at senior levels.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in PBM and commercial payer policy with a track record of shaping strategy and policy outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence at senior levels across internal and external stakeholders.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and executive presence, including experience advising C-suite audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in public policy, health policy, political science, economics, public health, or related field required; masters preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in health policy, government affairs, PBM/payer policy, market access, or related fields; leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own BMS’s multi-year commercial policy strategy and agenda across PBM reform, supply chain, and the commercial market.
• Proactively engage internal partners and translate insights into policy options and advocacy priorities.
• Anticipate legislative and regulatory developments and define legislative strategy across Congress and federal agencies.
• Lead PBM reform initiatives including transparency, delinking, competition, and market structure.
• Set policy direction on commercial market access issues (utilization management, cost-sharing, copay programs).
• Represent BMS publicly in trade associations and coalitions as a senior policy voice.
