Job summary

Selective Insurance is seeking a Senior leader to head enterprise underwriting learning and enablement. You will design strategy, governance, and scalable programs across onboarding, trainee and technology enablement, aligning learning with underwriting standards and evolving business needs.

You will drive data-informed improvements, partner across LOBs, and lead a high-performing team to support underwriting, premium audit, risk management, and technology enablement.

Qualifications

• Experience leading learning and development within insurance or financial services.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and learning technologies.
• Ability to drive training effectiveness, lead teams, and partner with business units.

Responsibilities

• Own enterprise learning strategy and architecture for underwriting.
• Determine delivery methods using modern instructional approaches.
• Identify knowledge gaps from performance data and industry metrics.
• Design and implement rigorous training effectiveness measures.
• Standardize training across regions while allowing regional flexibility.
• Collaborate with LOB Technical teams to align curricula.
• Develop change communications for content and workflow updates.
• Oversee Momentum Trainee and early career programs.
• Lead Learning & Enablement team and manage budget & vendors.
