Job summary

Selective Insurance seeks a seasoned leader to head Learning & Enablement for underwriting. You will own strategy, governance, and development of training programs across onboarding, technical, and change initiatives, partnering with LOBs to align learning with underwriting standards.

You’ll build scalable learning architecture, drive delivery innovations (AI content, simulations, eLearning), and measure impact on underwriting quality, profitability, and risk management.

Qualifications

• Experience leading learning and development in insurance or financial services.
• 10+ years of corporate learning, training, or talent development.
• 5+ years of leadership/management experience.
• 5+ years in P&C underwriting or underwriting operations (preferred).
• Experience designing learning programs across multiple delivery modalities (classroom, eLearning, video, AI-enabled, virtual).
• CPCU, AU, CPLP or similar designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design enterprise underwriting learning architecture and strategy.
• Lead learning delivery across modules and delivery modalities.
• Identify knowledge gaps from performance data and lead targeted interventions.
• Measure training effectiveness and business impact.
• Standardize training practices across regions and align with content teams.
• Oversee Momentum Trainee and early career programs and roadmap.
