Job summary
Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin, TX is seeking a full-time Nursing Director of Surgical Services to lead the department, ensure safe, high-quality patient care, and align clinical operations with regulatory standards.
The Director will manage strategic planning, budgeting, staffing, and collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing teams to optimize workflows, improve patient outcomes, and drive continuous improvement across surgical services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required; master’s preferred.
- 7+ years of nursing leadership experience desired.
- RN license active in the state or eligible for licensure.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily surgical services operations and staffing.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives for patient safety.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses.
- Recruit, hire, and retain skilled surgical services staff.
- Monitor patient care processes and outcomes for satisfaction.
- Drive budgeting and resource allocation for the department.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness.
- Develop and enforce departmental policies and protocols.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
