Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Senior Director, Supply Chain - Distribution & Logistics to lead transformation initiatives across the U.S. network. The role focuses on optimizing warehousing, transportation, and inventory through data-driven analysis and stakeholder management.

The candidate will guide client teams on process improvements, network design, and 3PL sourcing, with travel as required. 10–15+ years of relevant experience and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years of combined consulting and industry operating experience.
• Preference for leadership roles within Supply Chain / Distribution and Logistics.
• Experience leading or modeling supply chains using software tools (e.g., Llamasoft).
• Excellent fact-gathering and analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis.

Responsibilities

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of a client’s supply chain, including locations, product flow, seasonality, costs, and key processes.
• Develop a structured approach to assessing improvement opportunities and define supply-chain strategies to meet growth and financial objectives.
• Analyze network design and footprints, including distribution centers, inventory flows, and potential optimizations.
• Lead sourcing events related to transportation and warehousing, including RFI/RFP processes and negotiations.
• Develop transformation plans to drive changes in transportation, freight optimization, and warehousing with estimated benefits.
• Oversee deliverable quality, manage the team, and maintain day-to-day client relationships.
• Lead and conduct analysis, independent or with a team, to support recommendations.
