Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Director to join Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) in New York. You will lead risk assessment programs, shape methodologies, and guide risk metrics strategy in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

This hybrid role requires strong communication with senior leadership, team leadership, and the ability to deliver grounded recommendations from data and qualitative insights, while advancing a holistic risk framework that protects customers and supports business growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or military experience.
• At least 5 years of risk management experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in financial service.
• At least 5 years of experience in people management.

Responsibilities

• Actively lead our strategic approach to transform Risk Management.
• Identify opportunities to improve our Risk Management processes and execute well-managed change to strategies, methodologies, governance, and reporting elements.
• Synthesize and elevate information to executive levels.
• Leverage data, metrics, and analysis to monitor process improvements as they move through the organization.
• Manage ambiguity and drive clarity among team, partners, and stakeholders.
• Craft storylines that clearly articulate findings, insights, and recommendations.
• Directly liaise with senior leadership to move the organization to action.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key business leaders for decision-making.
