Job summary

Washington State University in Pullman, WA seeks an Associate Director of Residence Life to serve as the senior administrator for the Residence Life area within Housing & Residence Life. You will report to the Director and guide a large team to deliver high-quality residential programs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field and five years post-master's experience in a college/university residence hall system.
• Supervision of full-time, live-in residence hall staff.
• Commitment to participatory management and community standards.
• Demonstrated commitment to access and opportunity.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Experience recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating and retaining staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of the Assistant Directors of Residence Life and indirect supervision of Residential Education Directors and 120+ student paraprofessional staff.
• Provide direction to and oversight of the residence life program for more than 5,500 residents in 19 halls and 9 apartment complexes.
• Plan, implement, and facilitate departmental program assessment and evaluation activities.
• Provide vision and strategic direction to grow Living Learning Communities and academic partnerships.
• Serve as liaison with key University partners (Dean of Students, Academic Affairs, etc.).
• Lead processes to recruit, hire, train, supervise, evaluate and retain staff.
• Assume administrative responsibilities as directed.
