Job summary

Avantus, a California-based independent power producer focused on utility-scale solar with storage, seeks a Sr. Director, Project Finance to lead transaction execution across M&A, project financings and corporate financings for North American renewables.

You will maintain and audit complex project finance models, negotiate term sheets, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to close transactions on tight timelines, nurture investor relationships, mentor junior staff, and help grow Avantus’ pipeline

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in project or corporate finance within renewable energy or similar industry
• Strong financial modeling capabilities and structuring experience
• Familiarity with project finance structures such as partnership flips and back-leverage
• Experience creating marketing materials (teasers, CIMs) and managing data rooms
• Ability to analyze new structures and financing merits
• Experience guiding end-to-end financing process; negotiation and documentation
• Proven track record closing high-value transactions in a cross-functional team

Responsibilities

• Lead transaction execution for M&A, project financings, and corporate level financings
• Negotiate financing documentation as primary contact
• Coordinate closing processes with multi-functional teams to bring the transaction to financial close
• Develop relationships with investors and financing counterparties to grow pipeline
• Maintain and audit complex project finance models for development, construction, and operation
• Prepare and present materials to Senior and Executive teams and to the Board
• Mentor Project Finance Associates and Managers
• Stay current on market financing terms and tax issues
• Drive marketing materials for fundraising (teasers, CIMs, and data rooms)
• Manage closing processes to meet tight timeframes
