Job summary

Avantus is seeking a Sr. Director, Project Finance to lead transaction execution for M&A, project financings, and corporate financings in the renewables sector.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams to close deals on tight timelines while developing relationships with investors and financing partners. The role requires 8–10+ years in project or corporate finance, strong modeling skills, and experience in project finance structures.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in project finance, corporate finance, or investment banking in renewables or similar.
• Strong financial modeling capabilities and structuring experience.
• Familiarity with project finance structures, including flips, construction financing, back-leverage.
• Experience creating teasers, CIMs, and managing data rooms.
• Renewable development process knowledge.
• Ability to analyze new structures for merits of financing options.
• 2–3 years’ experience with overall financing process, including negotiation and docs.
• Track record closing complex high-value transactions; IB experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and approvals.

Responsibilities

• Lead transaction execution for M&A, project financings, and corporate financings.
• Negotiate financing documentation and term sheets with counterparties.
• Coordinate reviews and approvals across multi-functional teams to close on time.
• Develop relationships with investors in equity funds and banks; grow the pipeline.
• Maintain complex project finance models for development, construction, and operation.
• Prepare materials for senior/Executive teams and the Board.
• Mentor Project Finance Associates and Managers.
• Stay current on financing terms and market intel.
