Job summary

Nutanix seeks a Senior Director, Privacy & Data Legal to lead its global privacy and data legal function, directing a small team of privacy professionals. The role influences AI enablement at the executive level, balancing legal, technical, and regulatory needs to drive business outcomes.

You will set vision and operating models for privacy, data, and AI governance, advising on product, security, and compliance considerations while building scalable processes and metrics.

Qualifications

• J.D. and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in privacy, data protection, technology, cybersecurity, AI governance, and regulatory law.
• Experience leading a global privacy team.
• Significant in-house experience at a public enterprise technology company.
• Experience leading privacy, legal, data, compliance, or risk professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead global privacy and data strategy and oversee a global team.
• Advise executive leadership across Product, Engineering, Security, Sales, Procurement, Marketing, HR, Finance, and Compliance.
• Build visibility into privacy, data work, and AI governance across enterprise workflows.
• Lead the legal function supporting enterprise AI governance and responsible AI adoption.
• Advise on vendor agreements, DPAs, privacy terms, and data-sharing arrangements.
