Job summary

Nutanix, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director of Privacy & Data Legal to lead the global privacy, data, and AI governance programs. You will advise executives and collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security, Sales, and Compliance to advance privacy-compliant AI initiatives.

You will build and mentor a global privacy team, establish operating rhythms, and implement scalable risk-based workflows across the organization. This role offers flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

• J.D. and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 15+ years of relevant privacy, data protection, AI governance, and regulatory law.
• Prior experience leading a global privacy team.
• In-house experience at a public enterprise technology company.
• Experience leading privacy, legal, data, compliance, or risk professionals.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. and international privacy and data protection laws, emerging AI regulation.
• Experience influencing and enabling AI across an enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Lead global privacy and data strategy.
• Advise executive leadership across Product, Engineering, Security, Sales, HR, Finance, and Compliance.
• Lead and develop a global team of privacy counsel and program professionals.
• Clarify ownership, decision rights, escalation paths, and operating rhythms.
• Create visibility into privacy and data work across Product, Commercial, Procurement, Security, and enterprise workflows.
• Establish risk-tiered intake, triage, routing, escalation, and approval processes.
• Build metrics and dashboards covering demand, cycle time, risk, and business impact.
• Use workflow design, automation, and AI to improve quality and speed.
• Continuously improve processes, technology, and stakeholder engagement.
