Job summary

Fitch Group in New York is seeking a Senior Director in Power & Energy within the Corporate, Infrastructure and Project Finance Group. You will lead leading ratings analysis and provide independent assessments for North American renewable generation, energy infrastructure and related transactions.

The role reports to the Head of Power for North America and requires 10+ years in project finance, strong modelling, writing and communication skills, and the ability to mentor junior staff; candidates

Qualifications

• 10+ years of solid project finance related experience in power and energy infrastructure, including development of credit or underwriting approach.
• Proven project finance and infrastructure credit skills gained in a bank credit department, a rating agency, buy side credit department, etc.
• Solid writing and verbal communication skills.
• An open mind to think expansively about the opportunity and risk in the evolving infrastructure landscape.
• Excellent modelling skills and familiarity with spreadsheet-based financial models.
• Ability to read and fully comprehend complex structures and to ask probing questions to issuers and advisers.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and take on additional responsibilities as required.
• Employee management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead ratings analysis, execution and research on new and existing North American transactions.
• Evaluate innovative credit structures and participate in global criteria development.
• Identify trends, assess credit impact and highlight these trends in updated industry and market reports.
• Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and legal documents for ratings and reports.
• Represent Fitch in conferences, webinars, issuer meetings and media communications.
• Develop and grow relationships with other Fitch analytical groups for consistency and efficient execution.
• Mentor junior Power Infrastructure team members.
