We're looking for an experienced Senior Director, Platform Engineering to join our Zscaler Platform Services team. You will lead the design, build and architecture of Zscaler platform services. Reporting to the VP of Network and Infrastructure, you will:

  • Manage and grow teams of Platform Engineers and Build and Logistics Engineers responsible for core infrastructure services and global cloud infrastructure deployment.
  • Design and implement software platforms for automating common tasks and supporting Infrastructure-As-Code and lead engineering teams in creating and maintaining automation platforms and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with leadership to define requirements and develop technical standards for platform services and systems and establish well-defined processes and SLAs for key cross-functional services.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of software QA processes and tooling for Platform Engineering teams.
What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
  • 2+ years Software Engineering experience
  • 2+ years of experience with MySQL and/or Postgres database administration and expert understanding of compute hardware and capabilities and how to tailor hardware platforms to software workloads for optimized performance and scalability
  • 5+ years of experience design and building platforms for the management and operation of large-scale cloud infrastructure (including physical data centers)
  • Experience with Temporal/Airflow or similar distributed, durable, queueing systems
  • MS degree Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • 2+ years of experience designing and implementing a Service Oriented Architecture
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux or BSD system administration.
  • Proven track record of building teams at high-growth SaaS and Cloud companies

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range

$217,000 - $310,000 USD
