THE POSITION

As a Senior Director of Planning, you will strategize and optimize planning operations, managing a team including Sr. Managers, Managers, and Leads. Your role is crucial in ensuring operational efficiency and success of planning strategies.

You will oversee demand planning, production planning, inventory control, and material planning within the Energy and Sustainability Solutions division. You will drive the 5-step S&OP (ESIOP) activities, lead global projects, and improve planning processes to enhance business results. Building a world-class workforce through hiring, development, coaching, and retention is key. You will ensure the S&OP/IBP processes deliver at world-class levels, maximizing revenue, reducing costs, and achieving top-tier delivery performance.

This role reports to the Sr. Director Planning Leader and is based in Morris Plains, NJ, with a hybrid work schedule. You will influence career development and business operations, managing planning processes to improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs, and drive operational excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee planning functions across multiple locations
  • Develop and implement strategic planning initiatives
  • Analyze demand patterns and forecast requirements
  • Optimize operations for efficiency and cost reduction
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure operational excellence
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Mentor and provide strategic guidance to the planning team
  • Monitor industry trends and adopt best practices
  • Present planning reports to senior management
  • Lead team to meet key metrics and KPIs
  • Develop and refine planning processes
  • Lead the implementation of new planning tools and capabilities
  • Facilitate the 5-step S&OP/IBP process
  • Advance Honeywell Accelerator maturity
  • Monitor demand, supply, and material plans
  • Ensure inventory targets and reduce aged inventory
  • Develop team capabilities
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives

This position is part of the transition to the new, independent company Solstice Advanced Materials, expected in late 2025 or early 2026.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8+ years in planning or operations management
  • 8+ years of leadership experience managing a planning organization
  • Proven S&OP experience leading supply chain performance
  • Experience with global end-to-end planning (Supply, Demand, Production)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Experience in chemical and continuous flow manufacturing
  • Management experience leading multiple functions
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to deliver innovative solutions
  • Influencing and collaboration skills with business leaders
  • Experience leading change and mentoring teams
  • Expertise in S&OP, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory, and Materials Management
  • Passion for continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in planning software/tools
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to industry trends
