Job summary

The Whatcom Family YMCA is seeking a Fund Development Senior Director in Bellingham, WA, to lead major gifts, annual giving, partnerships, and grants, guiding a growing philanthropic program during a key period of expansion.

You will build donor relationships, manage campaigns, and collaborate with leadership to align funding with our mission, while ensuring ethical fundraising and donor stewardship across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit administration or related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive fundraising, development, philanthropy, or nonprofit leadership experience.
• Proven success securing major gifts and cultivating donor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and prospective supporters.
• Lead Annual Campaign strategy and volunteer engagement.
• Grow corporate giving and sponsorships with business partners.
• Support capital campaigns with donor engagement and reporting.
• Manage donor data and insights in the CRM.
• Collaborate with Board and volunteers to expand donor base.
• Partner on grants to support portfolio and renewals.
• Engage leadership to align priorities with funding opportunities.
