Job summary

YWCA Evanston/North Shore is seeking a Director of Development to lead fundraising, expand revenue, and guide donor cultivation in partnership with the President & CEO. The role focuses on annual giving, major gifts, and diversified revenue streams to support the organization's mission to eliminate racism and empower women.

The successful candidate will manage donor portfolios, plan campaigns, and oversee reporting and analytics, with strong writing, presentation, and relationship-building

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 7-10 years fundraising experience.
• Experience managing a donor portfolio and moving donors to major gifts.
• Strong writing and presentation skills for donor communications.
• Experience planning annual fundraising campaigns and events.
• Proficiency with donor databases such as DonorPerfect; valid license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual fundraising strategies to grow revenue.
• Partner with the CEO to set annual fundraising goals and targets.
• Increase donor acquisition, retention, and upgrades.
• Expand recurring giving and annual fund participation.
• Identify new revenue opportunities across donors and foundations.
• Monitor performance and adjust fundraising plans as needed.
• Manage a portfolio of donors through cultivation and solicitation.
• Schedule donor visits with the CEO and prepare briefs.
• Lead campaigns like Giving Tuesday and Year-End appeals.
• Oversee donor acknowledgments and reporting with analytics.
• Maintain donor records and ensure IRS-compliant acknowledgments.
• Collaborate with Marketing to tell the organization's story.
