Job summary

Providence Swedish Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Director of Pharmacy to lead the hospital's pharmacy department, drive daily operations, staffing, and clinical/regulatory performance. You will set goals, policies, and ensure safe medication-use processes with cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Engage with medical and nursing leadership on evidence-based formularies, guidelines, and safety programs, while advancing quality improvement and staff development across the pharmacy team.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy required; PharmD and/or MBA/MS preferred.
• Current state pharmacist license required.
• Minimum five years hospital pharmacy experience desirable; leadership experience.
• Regulatory compliance with JC, CMS/HCFA, CARF, state; performance improvement and guideline development.

Responsibilities

• Lead hospital pharmacy department daily operations, staffing, and clinical and regulatory performance.
• Establish goals, policies, and procedures; ensure safe, effective medication-use processes.
• Partner with medical and nursing leadership on formularies and medication safety.
• Oversee purchasing, inventory, and staffing plans based on acuity and census.
• Manage pharmacy team: hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance reviews.
• Monitor and report on operational activities and regulatory compliance.
