Job description

Are you an experienced oncology drug development leader with a track record of advancing therapies from discovery through regulatory approval?

We're partnering with an innovative biotechnology organization seeking a Senior Director, Oncology Pharmacology to provide scientific leadership across a diverse oncology portfolio. This individual will play a critical role in shaping nonclinical development strategy, driving pharmacology plans, and supporting programs from discovery through IND-enabling development and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and oversee studies evaluating efficacy, pharmacodynamics, mechanism of action, and biomarker strategies.
  • Drive translational approaches that support candidate selection, indication expansion, and clinical development decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with Toxicology, DMPK, Clinical Pharmacology, Biomarkers, Regulatory Affairs, and Clinical Development teams.
  • Manage external CRO and academic partnerships.
  • Contribute to regulatory submissions, including INDs, NDAs, and BLAs.
  • Mentor and develop scientific talent while serving as a key leader within a highly matrixed R&D environment.
  • PhD in Pharmacology, Immunology, Biology, Biochemistry, Cancer Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 10+ years of industry experience in nonclinical oncology pharmacology.
  • Demonstrated success advancing oncology assets from discovery through IND-enabling development.
  • Experience supporting at least one approved therapeutic product and/or major regulatory submission.
  • Deep understanding of oncology drug development, including solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, and/or immuno-oncology.
  • Experience across multiple therapeutic modalities, including biologics and other advanced treatment platforms.
  • Proven scientific leadership in cross-functional drug development teams.
  • Prior people leadership experience.
Preferred Experience
  • Oncology efficacy model development and execution.
  • Immuno-oncology research.
  • Biomarker identification and translational strategy.
  • CRO management and outsourced pharmacology programs.
  • Experience with biologics, ADCs, bispecifics, cell therapies, or other emerging oncology modalities.

This role is focused on nonclinical/preclinical oncology pharmacology leadership. Candidates whose experience is primarily in Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacometrics, Population PK, PK/PD Modeling, or Quantitative Clinical Pharmacology without significant ownership of oncology pharmacology programs are unlikely to be a strong fit.

  • Opportunity to influence high-impact oncology programs.
  • Visible leadership role with broad cross-functional exposure.
  • Work across multiple therapeutic modalities and cutting-edge oncology science.
