Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr. Director to lead Enterprise Payments QA, Authority, and Training in a hybrid role based in Richmond, VA. You will shape the strategic direction for governance across all payment rails, build automated QA, and drive modern training using AI and analytics.

The role requires strategic influence, strong risk acumen, and a track record of leading large, matrixed teams. You will partner with executives across Product, Tech, and Risk to elevate payments operations,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
• At least 7 years of experience in risk management, payments, project management, process management, operations, or a combination
• At least 5 years of People Management experience
• At least 2 years of experience working with executive level stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Define strategic direction for Payments QA, Payments Authority, and Training; integrate AI, automation, and analytics to modernize programs.
• Lead a data-driven QA framework to monitor end-to-end payment lifecycles and reduce defects.
• Oversee the enterprise Payments Authority framework with automated control gates and governance across rails and verticals.
• Lead a modern payments curriculum leveraging AI-powered learning platforms to build deep payments expertise.
• Identify opportunities to deploy automation (RPA, NLP, predictive analytics) to streamline governance checks.
• Collaborate with Accountable Executives, Product, Tech, and Risk Offices to assess strategy and risks.
• Lead, mentor, and build an inclusive, high-performing team.
