Job summary

Rendr in New York City seeks a Senior Director of Operations and Strategic Initiatives to partner with the COO and lead high-priority programs across 100+ clinics. You will design, launch, and manage complex initiatives that scale organizational performance and build durable systems and playbooks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• MBA/MPH or other advanced degree is preferred.
• 7+ years in strategy, operations, or program management within healthcare.
• Past consulting experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills are essential.
• Experience owning programs from planning through execution and sustainment is required.
• Proven cross-functional alignment and stakeholder management with senior leaders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at executive-level presentations and materials.

Job Overview:

Rendr is seeking a Senior Director, Operations and Strategic Initiatives, to serve as a key partner to the Chief Operating Officer and other Operations leaders. This role supports Rendr's high-priority initiatives — cascading organizational strategy and priorities to operational planning and execution. Key objectives are helping design, launch, and manage complex programs that improve operational performance, and building the internal systems and knowledge infrastructure that allow a fast-growing, 100+ clinic organization to scale effectively.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role suited to an operator who is equipped with strategic thinking and operational execution. The ideal candidate brings a background in structured problem-solving, track record of building and running programs or teams, and the ability to build durable systems and playbooks. This person should be able to own initiatives and programs end-to-end, driving initial planning and organizing through execution, monitoring, and long-term sustainment.

Strategic Initiatives

• Partner with the COO to scope, assess, plan, and execute complex initiatives across clinic operations, membership retention and growth (organically and in-organically), and operational effectiveness.
• Design and build new operational programs from the ground up, including defining objectives, governance structures, resourcing plans, and performance metrics.
• Lead structured analyses (market assessments, operational diagnostics, business cases) to inform management decision-making and actions.
• Translate org and ops strategic priorities into clear workstreams, timelines, and success metrics, with reporting cadences and dashboards that give leadership ongoing visibility into program performance and operational KPIs.

Program Development and Management

• Own programs from concept to completion and beyond — leading planning and design, organizing resources and workstreams, driving execution, and establishing ongoing monitoring and governance to ensure results are sustained over time.
• Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and resourcing gaps across initiatives, and elevate issues with recommended solutions.

Stakeholder Alignment

• Build trusted relationships with department leaders, physician leadership, and site management team to drive adoption of new programs and processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA, MPH, or other advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in strategy, operations, or program management roles, with experience in healthcare services (e.g., value-based care, Medicare Advantage, IPA/medical group operations, or multi-site healthcare delivery organizations) strongly preferred.
• Past consulting experience preferred (management consulting, strategy consulting, or internal strategy/corporate development team).
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and translate data into actionable recommendations.
• Demonstrated experience owning programs from planning and organizing through execution, monitoring, and sustainment — not just contributing to isolated phases of a project.
• Demonstrated success in cross-functional alignment and stakeholder management, including working directly with senior executives and physician/site ops leadership.
• Strong project management skills, including experience running multiple concurrent workstreams with competing priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive-level presentations and materials.
• Proficiency in Excel/data analysis tools and presentation software; comfort working with operational and financial data.
• Ability to speak Chinese preferred but not required.
