Job summary

Tango Therapeutics in Boston seeks a Senior Director, Clinical Sciences to lead a team of Clinical Scientists and to provide hands-on scientific leadership for oncology programs. You will mentor staff, guide the design, execution, and interpretation of trials, and ensure rigorous study conduct.

You will collaborate with Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Regulatory, Translational Medicine, and Medical Writing to optimize programs, submissions, and data quality.

Qualifications

• MD, PhD, PharmD or MS in a related scientific field.
• 12+ years of experience in clinical science or research.
• 7+ years of oncology experience.
• Proven ability to design and manage clinical trials with regulatory knowledge.
• Strong analytical skills in statistical analysis and data interpretation.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to convey complex science.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Clinical Scientists (4–6).
• Provide hands-on scientific leadership for clinical programs.
• Oversee design, execution, analysis, and interpretation of oncology studies.
• Collaborate with Clinical Development, Biostatistics, and Regulatory affairs.
• Develop and review clinical documents: protocols, CSRs, development plans.
• Interpret emerging data to inform dose, expansion, and strategy.
• Contribute to regulatory submissions and health authority interactions.
• Foster best practices and continuous process improvement in Clinical Science.
• Represent Clinical Science on cross-functional study teams and governance.
• Support a collaborative, rigorous culture within the function.
