Job summary

Roosevelt Institute in New York is seeking a senior Development leader to design and grow our major individual giving program while strengthening foundation relations. You will lead a team, cultivate major donors, and work closely with the Chief Development Officer to expand Roosevelt’s fundraising portfolio.

The role emphasizes strategic planning, donor stewardship, and cross-team collaboration to achieve multi-year revenue goals and diversify funding sources.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
• Experience building, or substantially growing, an individual giving program.
• Experience managing staff from diverse backgrounds and levels.
• Understanding of philanthropic and political fundraising environments; familiarity with the progressive policy ecosystem preferred.

Responsibilities

• Shape the strategic design of expanding major individual giving; build infrastructure (research, moves management, solicitation, stewardship).
• Manage fundraising pipeline for Roosevelt Institute and Roosevelt Forward; advise on strategy and track progress toward goals.
• Develop a donor engagement strategy including communications, events, and funder briefings.
• Cultivate and manage a portfolio of major individual and donor prospects; oversee a mid-level giving pipeline growth.
• Oversee foundation relations to sustain institutional fundraising performance.
• Collaborate with program, communications, and leadership teams to identify fundraising opportunities.
• Coordinate with FDRL fundraising strategy to ensure seamless donor experiences across entities.
