Job summary

The Roosevelt Institute in Washington, DC, hybrid with NYC/DC locations, seeks a Managing Director of Development to lead the major individual giving program and guide Roosevelt Forward. You will build donor pipelines, manage a four-person team, and collaborate across foundations and donors to reach ambitious revenue goals.

You will cultivate major donors, oversee foundation relations, and align program leadership with fundraising strategy.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8–10 years experience in fundraising for nonprofit organizations.
• Experience building or substantially growing an individual giving program.
• Experience managing and supporting staff from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Shape and execute Roosevelt’s major individual giving program and stewardship infrastructure.
• Oversee fundraising pipeline for Roosevelt Institute and Roosevelt Forward (c3 and c4).
• Develop donor engagement strategies including communications and events.
• Cultivate and manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects.
• Lead the Donor Engagement Manager in expanding the mid-level giving portfolio.
