The Roosevelt Institute is seeking a Managing Director of Development to lead the fundraising strategy for the think tank and Roosevelt Forward, focusing on building a major individual giving program and guiding foundation relations.

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, you will cultivate a personal portfolio of major donors, supervise a four-person development team, and align donor engagement with program goals and strategic plan execution.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum of 8–10 years experience in fundraising for nonprofit organizations.
• Experience building or substantially growing an individual giving program.
• Experience managing and supporting staff from diverse backgrounds.
• Understanding of philanthropic and political environments; familiarity with the progressive policy ecosystem preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to present complex program strategies to funders.

• Shape and lead Roosevelt Institute’s major individual giving program and portfolio management.
• Oversee donor engagement strategy including cultivation events and briefings.
• Personally cultivate a portfolio of major donors and prospects.
• Lead and mentor a team of fundraising professionals.
