Director of People & Culture at New Classrooms

WHO WE ARE

New Classrooms is a national non-profit organization focused on reimagining math education for all students. We are a fully remote team of educators, technologists, and advocates committed to the idea that all students deserve an educational pathway that meets them where they are and gets them to where they need to be. We partner with schools, districts, and states to support the implementation of our personalized, competency-based math solution, Teach to One: Roadmaps, while also advocating for shifts across the K-12 landscape to create the conditions for more student-centered learning.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Program Success team is instrumental in nurturing and growing existing relationships with school districts and schools utilizing Teach to One: Roadmaps. As we expand our impact, we are formalizing a professional learning and strategy consulting vertical to support district-wide implementations and systemic academic transformation.

We are seeking a strategic leader with deep expertise in K-12 math instruction, academic strategy, and large-scale implementation. This person will work closely with district and school leaders to design and execute high-impact math programs, align implementation with district instructional priorities, and drive sustainable academic change. In addition to directly supporting districts, this role will develop scalable partnership models that allow us to extend our services through third-party organizations, regional education agencies, and instructional support networks.

WHAT THIS ROLE DOES

Academic Strategy & Systemic Change

  • Partner with district leadership teams (Chief Academic Officers, Math Directors, Superintendents, and Principals) to develop and execute long-term academic strategies that improve math instruction and student outcomes.
  • Align our math solution’s implementation with district and state academic priorities, including MTSS frameworks, instructional coaching models, high-dosage tutoring, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Analyze student achievement data, classroom observation trends, and assessment results to inform instructional shifts and optimize program impact.
  • Develop customized strategic plans for districts to sustain instructional change beyond initial implementation, including professional learning pathways and instructional leadership development.

Implementation Leadership & Professional Learning

  • Design and deliver professional learning experiences for teachers, school leaders, and district administrators on Teach to One’s philosophy, program, and product as well as on effective math instruction, intervention strategies, and instructional leadership.
  • Guide schools through instructional scheduling and staffing models that support personalized and skills-based learning in math.
  • Support school and district teams in building collaborative data cycles, using formative assessments, adaptive learning technologies, and instructional best practices to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching and capacity-building support to district math specialists, instructional coaches, and school-based teams to sustain high-quality instruction.

Scaling Through Partnerships & Outsourced Implementation Support

  • Engage strategic partners (regional education service centers, professional learning providers, non-profit instructional support organizations) to scale our implementation services through outsourced models.
  • Manage relationships with state agencies, regional service centers, universities, and national education networks to integrate our math solution into existing instructional initiatives.
  • Nurture partnership models that ensure quality and consistency in training delivery while expanding our impact to more schools and districts.

Support Organizational Growth & Thought Leadership

  • Shape our organization’s long-term strategy in professional learning, instructional partnerships, and math program implementation.
  • Represent the organization at education conferences, district convenings, and policy discussions.
  • Develop toolkits, website articles and best-practice guides to support districts in designing and sustaining high-impact math programs.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You embody our core values: Prioritize People, Initiate and Innovate, Lifelong Learning, Creative Collaboration, Purposeful Partnerships and Considered Confidence.
  • Deep expertise (10+ years) in K-12 math instruction and academic strategy, with experience leading instructional change at the district or state level.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale instructional initiatives, including professional learning systems, coaching frameworks, and multi-school improvement strategies.
  • Experience using assessment data and instructional analytics to drive academic strategy and program refinement.
  • Strong background in district-wide implementation planning, capacity building, and educator training.
  • Experience partnering with external organizations to scale services, including managing multi-district professional learning networks or outsourcing instructional support at scale.
  • Exceptional facilitation and relationship-building skills, particularly with senior district and school leadership teams.
  • Experience with math pathways, skills-based learning models, and blended learning approaches.
  • Background in instructional coaching models, MTSS implementation, and personalized learning strategies.
  • Experience managing large-scale professional learning partnerships at a regional or national level.
  • Willing to travel frequently with access to a major metropolitan airport.
