Job summary

BLUESTAR RESORT & GOLF is seeking a Director of Golf in La Quinta, CA to lead the Golf Operations Team and deliver first-class guest service while achieving revenue and budget targets.

The role requires PGA membership, budget oversight, and a track record in golf management. Expect a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, with a strong focus on staff development and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• PGA membership is required; active in local PGA section.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field preferred.
• Three to five years’ related experience with supervisory experience required.
• Knowledge and experience in all facets of golf management.
• First Aid, CPR/AED certification and other safety certifications as required.
• Computer literate with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• High competency in financial forecasting and budget administration.
• Strong strategic planning, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Must be able to lead, motivate and develop staff.

Responsibilities

• Communicate core values and mission to support company goals.
• Develop annual budget for operations and capital projects.
• Formulate goals, operating procedures and shared vision.
• Monitor department budgets and ensure revenue targets are met.
• Review financial reports for operations including F&B and Golf.
• Lead competitive analyses and develop innovative programs.
• Maintain effective communications with team and HR issues.
• Interview and hire key staff; provide biannual performance reviews.
• Coach and motivate team; recognize success and take corrective actions.
• Support employee development and succession plans.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and PPE usage.
• Manage purchase orders, department checkbooks and budgets.
• Inspect site and improve inspection scores with managers.
• Solicit guest feedback and improve processes.
• Uphold environmental commitments and safe product disposal.
