Job summary

YWCA Evanston/North Shore seeks a Director of Development to lead fundraising, expand philanthropic support, and diversify revenue. You will collaborate with the President & CEO to craft strategies advancing the mission to eliminate racism and empower women, focusing on individual donors and major gifts.

The role requires building relationships, managing donor portfolios, coordinating annual campaigns, and producing dashboards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Demonstrated success securing five- and six-figure gifts.
• Experience managing a donor portfolio and annual campaigns.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
• Experience with donor databases (DonorPerfect preferred).
• Excellent writing and presentation skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement fundraising strategies to increase support and diversify revenue.
• Partner with the President & CEO to set annual fundraising goals and targets.
• Expand donor acquisition, retention, upgrades, and recurring giving.
• Manage donor portfolio with cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Prepare donor briefings and strategies for the CEO; ensure timely follow-up.
