Job summary

Santa Clara University seeks a Senior Director for Development at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics to lead major gift fundraising, manage a 125+ prospect portfolio, and cultivate donor relationships with gifts ranging from $100,000 to $1,999,999.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will develop donor-centered strategies, collaborate with center and university leaders, and help steer annual fundraising performance while working in a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 8+ years of related professional experience.
• 3+ years of direct major gift fundraising experience.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of 125+ high-net-worth prospects.
• Collaborate with Center leaders and university officers to develop multi-interest proposals.
• Produce comprehensive proposals, budgets, reports and related correspondence.
• Coordinate planned giving requests and strategies.
• Engage with deans, directors, and university administrators on fundraising strategy.
• Track activities using Blackbaud CRM and report on performance.
• Contribute to strategic planning and organizational priorities.
