Job summary

UC Santa Cruz is seeking an Executive Director of Development in University Advancement to lead the major gifts program for the Baskin School of Engineering. You will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors at the highest levels, and work with academic leaders and volunteers to advance our priorities.

This role reports to the AVC for Development, manages a team, and collaborates across campus to align fundraising with strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Eight+ years in major gift fundraising or related field.
• Proven success in soliciting major gifts.
• Knowledge of fundraising policies and donor stewardship.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build strategic donor networks.

Responsibilities

• Identify new sources of gift support and develop cultivation strategies.
• Maintain a portfolio of major gift prospects and conduct in-person moves.
• Solicit major gifts and coordinate donor stewardship.
• Collaborate with divisions and volunteers to align fundraising priorities.
• Develop annual development plan and budgeting.
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative work environment.
