Jewish Long Beach is seeking a Senior Director of Development to lead and expand its philanthropic vision. You will work alongside the CEO to cultivate major gifts, shape donor strategy, and build a culture of philanthropy across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the mission of Jewish Long Beach and its Foundation.
• Oversee all fundraising activities, including major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, and special events.
• Ensure fundraising efforts comply with ethical and legal standards, as well as policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with marketing and senior leadership to develop messaging and materials for campaigns.
• Lead and manage a team of philanthropy professionals, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, foundations, corporations, and community partners.
• Work with leadership and program directors to identify funding priorities and develop cases for support.
• Provide updates to leadership, the Board, and committees on fundraising progress.
• Foster a culture of philanthropy within the organization and engage staff, volunteers, and board members.
• Represent Jewish Long Beach in the community as an ambassador for the Foundation.
• Stay current on trends in philanthropy and fundraising; pursue new funding approaches.
• Coordinate between donors and Jewish Long Beach to ensure proper recognition and stewardship.
• Collaborate with other departments to promote a cohesive approach to philanthropy.
