Job summary

Rise Internet is seeking a Senior Director of Network Planning and Capacity Management to lead a 10-person network engineering and planning team in Westlake, TX. You will own the technical strategy for the production network, including core/backbone POPs, peering, transit, and backhaul expansions.

You will manage 3P carrier relationships to optimize pricing and performance, drive cost savings, and serve as an escalation point for network operations.

Qualifications

• 15+ years managing ISP networks, preferably fixed wireless and FTTH.
• 5+ years in leadership, Sr. Mgr level or higher.
• 5+ years experience with Cisco-based networks; CCNA/CCIE certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 10 person Network Engineering and Planning team responsible for Rise Internet's production network and its security.
• Develop and own the technical roadmap and strategy for Rise Internet's production network including core/backbone POPs, national backbone with peering and transit, regional aggregation, and tower backhaul.
• Own and manage 3P carrier relationships ensuring best-in-class pricing and performance; deliver savings through renewals and negotiations.
• Design and deliver tower and regional backhaul services to support expansion of Rise Internet's network.
• Support and serve as an escalation point for network operations to ensure network events are addressed quickly and resolved.
