Job summary

Sam's Club is seeking a Senior Director, Membership based in Bentonville, AR. You will lead a large segment of our membership business, driving recurring membership income and shaping strategies to grow and retain our member base while strengthening loyalty.

You will collaborate across Finance, Marketing, Product, Technology, Operations, Analytics, Merchandising, and Member Support to translate membership strategy into prioritized actions and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Social Science, Communications, or related field and 7 years’ experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or related area OR 9 years’ experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or related area. 3 years’ supervisory experience.
• Experience in a scaled membership, subscription, loyalty, or recurring-revenue business owning or influencing growth, engagement, renewal, and lifetime value.

Responsibilities

• Lead membership strategy: Set direction and priorities and translate strategy into measurable outcomes.
• Drive growth and retention: Improve acquisition, engagement, loyalty, renewal, and retention based on member behavior and performance.
• Own membership economics: Balance growth, churn, membership income, pricing, benefits, lifetime value, and ROI.
• Strengthen the membership proposition: Improve products, services, benefits, pricing, tiers, and experiences.
• Lead complex decisions: Guide membership strategy, partnerships, investments, and business transformation.
• Turn insights into action: Use member, financial, and operational data.
• Build partnerships: Align cross-functional teams.
• Develop leaders: Coach Directors and Senior Managers and build the talent pipeline.
