Job summary

Westbrook Service Company is seeking a Director of Construction Operations to provide strategic leadership for its mechanical construction division. This role partners with executive leadership to drive operational excellence, profitability, and sustainable growth across budgets, workforce planning, and project execution.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of management experience leading a commercial mechanical construction division.
• Strong understanding of construction estimating, blueprint interpretation, and project takeoffs.
• Ability to analyze operational and financial data and make informed business decisions.
• Working knowledge of WIP reporting and financial statements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Partner with executive leadership to review budgets, WIP reports, departmental performance, and growth initiatives.
• Monitor industry trends, labor markets, emerging technologies, and competitive activity to forecast workforce needs.
• Ensure licensing, certifications, workforce records, and timekeeping with HR.
• Review pre-construction estimates with Chief Estimator to improve outcomes.
• Manage labor and material costs by maintaining staffing, productivity, purchasing, inventory, quality, safety, and overtime.
• Partner with Accounting to ensure projects are completed, billed, closed, and collected on schedule.
• Establish and maintain departmental standards, processes, and best practices.
• Lead quality assurance to ensure compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with Fleet for vehicle maintenance.
